Belly Dancing Costume

Belly Dancing Costume Biography

I have been dancing Middle Eastern Dance or belly dance for nine years and Improvised Tribal Style belly dance for four years and am now entering my fourth year as a teacher of this beautiful dance form.As a previous student of Emma Pyke's, I was a member of professional troupe Mersin and along with Kitty Kohl, Emma and I co-manage and promote a popular event, Hipnotic, that takes place bi-monthly in Reading, UK.

I currently teach Improvised Tribal Style Belly Dance on Sunday afternoons where you can learn the intricate, group based form of belly dance that requires you to learn common moves and combinations that are then improvised with a group of like-minded dancers and Shimmy Shake on a Wednesday evening, a belly dance based drills and fitness class that offers strengthening and stamina building exercises that are great for dancers and non-dancers alike after which we put them to the test with some dance moves - a fun way to get strong and stay fit.  Who, after all, doesn't desire to be fitter and stronger?  I perform with belly dance troupe Covert Bling and as a soloist in various styles.

I offer workshops in dance and costuming, can provide talks and demonstrations to local groups and offer reduced rates to schools wishing to enhance their pupil's learning about Ancient Egypt with appropriate dance sessions. In addition I am experienced in teaching people with learning difficulties and currently run a term-time class on  Friday afternoon in Reading.  If you are interested in starting a class for people with learning difficulties, or know someone who would like to join the current Friday class then please don't hesitate to
